Terms of service

Effective Date: 14/01/2026
Governing Law: England & Wales

By accessing this website or commissioning work, you agree to the following terms.

1. Our Services

Beth Wilson Embroidery creates bespoke embroidered garments, accessories, and textile works. All pieces are handcrafted and produced to order. Each commission is unique, reflecting the couture approach to design and execution.

2. Commissions & Payment

  • All commissions are subject to acceptance.

  • Prices, timelines, and payment schedules are agreed in advance in writing.

  • A deposit is required to secure a commission. Deposits are non-refundable as they cover studio time, materials, and design development.

  • Work will not commence until the agreed deposit is received.

  • Once design development has begun, the full remaining balance is due. If the client chooses to cancel at this stage, the balance remains payable.

  • Late payments may incur additional charges or delays to production.

3. Cancellations

  • Cancellations may only be requested prior to design development or production commencing.

  • Once design development has begun, the commission is considered active, and cancellations will require payment of the full remaining balance.

4. Client Brief & Design Development

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring their full vision, ideas, and requirements are clearly communicated during the consultation and briefing stage. This allows us to fully understand the commission before design development begins.

  • Once design development has commenced, refinements and minor amendments are welcome.

  • The original brief cannot be fundamentally rewritten or expanded to include new elements that were not previously discussed or agreed.

  • Significant new ideas, features, or changes introduced after design development begins may incur an additional fee to cover extra design time, materials, and studio resources.

5. Nature of Bespoke Work

  • Each piece is individually made; subtle variations in texture, colour, and finish are inherent to handcrafted embroidery and are part of the couture process.

  • These variations do not constitute a fault.

6. Materials & Sourcing

  • Materials may be sourced by Beth Wilson Embroidery or provided by the client, depending on the commission.

  • Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary due to availability; any changes will be discussed and agreed with the client.

  • Additional costs for upgraded or premium materials will be agreed prior to use.

7. Quality & Craftsmanship

  • We take pride in all work. Minor variations are natural in handcrafted pieces and are not considered defects.

  • All pieces are handled with care during production, photography, and shipping.

8. Intellectual Property

  • All designs, embroidery techniques, imagery, and creative processes remain the intellectual property of Beth Wilson Embroidery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Clients are granted rights to use their commissioned item for personal purposes only.

  • Commercial use, reproduction, or resale requires written permission.

9. Documentation, Portfolio & Confidentiality

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Beth Wilson Embroidery reserves the right to photograph, film, and publicly showcase commissioned work for portfolio, press, exhibition, awards, funding, and promotional purposes.

  • Clients requiring confidentiality must provide and sign a separate NDA prior to design development.

  • In the absence of a signed NDA, documentation and sharing of the completed work will be assumed.

10. Photography & Studio Visits

  • Clients visiting the studio or involved in photoshoots must adhere to safety guidelines around embroidery machinery.

  • Smart-casual attire is acceptable, but clothing should be practical and safe for working around machinery.

11. Alterations & Amendments

  • Minor refinements and adjustments during design development are included.

  • Substantial changes or additions beyond the agreed brief may require an additional fee.

12. Shipping & Insurance

  • Clients are responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise agreed.

  • Insurance during transit is recommended; Beth Wilson Embroidery is not liable for items lost or damaged in transit once dispatched.

13. Liability

  • Beth Wilson Embroidery’s liability is limited to the value of the commissioned work.

  • We are not responsible for:

    • Delays caused by third-party couriers

    • Issues arising from inaccurate information provided by the client

    • Misuse, neglect, or alteration of the commissioned item

14. Privacy Policy

  • Personal data collected (e.g., name, contact details, project information) is used solely to manage commissions, communicate with clients, and improve our services.

  • Data is stored securely and retained only as necessary.

  • Clients may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information at any time.
