ADIDAS Live Customisation: Bringing Embroidery Into the Retail Experience
We recently joined ADIDAS at Start Fitness, Newcastle, for a live embroidery customisation activation - bringing our embroidery machine directly into the store for a day of personalised adidas pieces.
With the Great North Run taking place the following day, the timing couldn’t have been better. From the morning run club through to a busy day of in-store personalisation, customers were able to purchase adidas products and have them customised by us on the spot.
Live embroidery brings something different to a retail environment.
Rather than simply displaying a finished product, customers could watch their personalisation being created in front of them. The embroidery machine quickly became a point of curiosity, with customers stopping to see what was happening, looking through the embroidery menu and talking to us about what they could have added to their pieces.
The response was fantastic.
From T-shirts to backpacks, some customers chose their adidas products specifically because they knew they could have them personalised by us on the day - turning the customisation into an additional reason to purchase and engage with the store.
For many of the runners, their personalised adidas pieces were also being prepared for the Great North Run, giving the embroidery an added personal connection to the event and their own running experience.
