Laurie's Meaningful Pearl Anniversary Denim Jacket
Our lovely client Laurie shares her experience creating a completely bespoke denim jacket design with us for her and her partner's pearl wedding anniversary. Her jacket truly represented her and incorporated all the elements she wished to keep close to her heart forever.
Laurie's design was extra special as she wanted to reflect many meaningful and sentimental things into her jacket. She came to us with a vision, we went through what would be possible with embroidery and once the main elements of the design were confirmed, we got started on digitizing!

The final design aimed to reflect the soulmate relationship between Laurie and her partner; personal moments they have been through together; their younger selves and nods to each of their unique identities. The two ferarris were incorporated to represent Laurie's two sons - both passionate about Formula 1 - and the baby cheetah was included to represent Laurie's life-changing fight and win with bone cancer.
"Our life journey with my husband is a bit unusual, as it began with bone cancer. We were friends and students, and barely three months after we first met, I learned that I had osteosarcoma in my left knee and that my chances of survival were quite low. It was also uncertain whether I would be able to keep my leg, even though my life up until then had revolved around sports (handball and dance).

To symbolise our story, I took the time to create an image that visually tells our journey through symbols: a cheetah with a knee prosthesis (the brand of mine), two Ferrari cars with a T and J representing my sons Terry and Julian, who are passionate about Formula 1, my dogs, a handball and ballet slippers (symbols of my life before illness), the sun and the moon (my parents, who have always been very close and supportive), a star (representing my daughter Stella), purple freesia flowers (my favorite flowers, discovered thanks to my husband), a purple/violet color scheme (my favorite color before illness), sneakers (since I cannot wear high heels because of my knee prosthesis), and an AC/DC T-shirt (my husband’s favorite band)."
"I don’t have words strong enough to thank Ellie and the entire team at Beth Wilson Embroidery.
To me, what they have created is not simply an intricate piece of embroidery. It is an open book of my life, the most beautiful reflection of my journey since childhood.
I could have written a book, started a blog or chosen to have a tattoo, but I felt the need to have my story embroidered onto a denim jacket because it feels true to who I am. It is simply me.
I spent a long time searching for the right people who could bring my idea to life, and I had almost given up hope of ever finding them, until I stumbled upon Beth Wilson Embroidery by chance.
Now that I can see the finished result, I have absolutely no regrets. The embroidery is truly beautiful, and seeing my life story brought to life in such a personal and meaningful way is something I will always treasure."
It was such an honour to work on such a meaningful piece like this one. Thank you Laurie!
