Set at Chilliwack Golf Club in British Columbia, this heartfelt wedding was filled with meaningful moments and thoughtful personal touches. From a private ceremony at the groom's grandmother's home to a custom embroidered denim jacket inspired by the couple's love of the outdoors, every detail reflected their story and created a celebration that felt relaxed, authentic and unforgettable.
How would you describe your wedding?
"The day followed a classic wedding timeline - first look, ceremony, cocktail hour, speeches, dinner, first dance, cake cutting, and dancing - but included personal touches that reflected our personalities including a s'mores bar around the fire pit, a mountain-themed wedding cake, and a soundtrack of classic songs we both loved. I would describe it as a meaningful, relaxed, and uniquely personal day."

What inspired your choice of wedding location, venue and overall vibe for your day?
"We both love the outdoors so finding a venue with a beautiful view and outdoor feel was very important for us, however, we were getting married in the fall so the chance for cool, wet weather was very high. The Chilliwack Golf Club had a beautiful outdoor space overlooking the mountains and golf course, but what really sold us was their ability to move things undercover the morning of. They had a covered structure where the reception was going to be held, and could turn the dancefloor into the ceremony area if needed. The walls were also retractable so we were able to keep the same view while being covered. The venue also offered an all inclusive package which really appealed to us, including the cake vendor and DJ. In terms of the vibe, we followed the basic elements of a classic wedding, but we also wanted it to have a personal and relaxed feel."

Looking back, what are the main moments from your wedding day that you'll remember forever?
"The main moments I'll always remember will be the private legal ceremony at Alec's grandmother's house, the excitement of walking down the isle and the amount of rain that came down throughout the day."

Were there any planning decisions or personal touches that made your day feel especially meaningful or unique to you as a couple?
"We decided to do a private first look with Alec's old truck, then the two of us drove it up the street to his grandmother's farm house. His grandmother wasn't going to be able to make it to our wedding since it was a bit too far so we actually had our legal ceremony privately at her house, so she could still be a part of our day and was able to be one of our witnesses. That felt really special because it also gave us some time to really take in the moment privately before heading to the main venue. Doing the legal part first also allowed us to have one of our good friends act as an officiant for our bigger ceremony since the legal part was already taken care of. It was his first time but he did a fantastic job and really made it personalized to us. It also really helped both of our nerves having a mutual friend be up there with us. It gets so nerve wracking standing up there!"

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding with a similar style or vision to yours?
"I will always be proponent of all inclusive weddings - it took so much stress off of our plate and allowed us to focus on the smaller, more personal details. I also am so happy that we were able to spend the majority of the day together as a couple. The day was long and there were a lot of logistics to keep things on time, but we were able to have so many little moments and shared memories because we were together for the majority of the day."

What made you decide to have a custom jacket created for your wedding day?
"I am a very sentimental person, and loved the idea of having a jean jacket for the reception, however I didn't want something that would only be used for one day. When I came across your designs, I knew immediately that is what I had been looking for. Not only were they beautiful and customizable, but they also fit my personality perfectly."

What elements or details did you want to incorporate into your jacket design and why were they meaningful to you?
"I really wanted the mountain scene since hiking and being in the mountains is very important to both of us. I also really wanted to incorporate a few key flowers from my bouquet, specifically the blue thistle and sunflowers because I loved how those colours popped. I also wanted the wedding date and my married name to be included, but subtle for future use."
How did you find the process of designing and creating your personalised jacket?
"The process was so much fun and very easy. The patience and input from your team was so appreciated while I figured out what I wanted the final product to look like. The shipping time was also very fast!"
