On a golden Octobers day, Sophie & Phoebe were married at Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds, surrounded by friends, family, and the joyful sounds of a brass band. Their wedding was a heartfelt celebration of their love, with every detail thoughtfully chosen and woven with meaning, telling the story of who they are together.

How would you describe your wedding?

"Whimsical, silly, big!"

What inspired your choice of wedding location, venue and overall vibe for the day?

"Phoebe is from Stockton and Sophie is from Watford, but we always wanted to stay in Leeds as that is where we live and fell in love!"

"We wanted to have our wedding in a place that meant something to us both. Left Bank Leeds is a beautiful building that we had been to many times, and it was at the top of both our lists as a venue. However, on finding out that it wasn’t licensed for marriages, we headed to the Leeds City Council website to find out where we could actually get married. Lo and behold, Hyde Park Picture House was a licensed wedding venue - a brisk seven-minute walk from Left Bank! A cinema we had also been to dozens of times, it was a complete surprise to learn that it was also a licensed wedding venue so we jumped at the chance!"

Looking back, what are the main moments from your wedding day that you'll remember forever?

"Aside from getting married, it was lovely to have been around our bridal parties on the morning, and meeting each other before the ceremony to experience this surreal moment together was so special. The walk down Brudenell Road with the brass band leading us to our reception venue, in our jackets, with all our friends and family behind us, was an unforgettable moment."

Were there any planning decisions or personal touches that made your day feel especially meaningful or unique to you as a couple?

"We are big fans of The Simpsons so our table numbers were named after niche characters voiced by famous actors. As well as this, we have two cats that were referenced throughout the day: cutouts at the cinema, cocktails named in their honour and napkins with their faces printed on. We designed our own wedding newspapers and Sophie made a huge crossword puzzle with clues about our relationship for guests to complete."

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding with a similar style or vision to yours?

"Your wedding is a great opportunity to support local businesses, which in turn should keep your day special and original to you. Also: embrace the process of planning a wedding. It can become a stressful experience but it doesn’t have to be! The only person who should approve your decisions is the person you’re marrying, no one else’s opinion matters."

What made you decide to have a custom jacket created for your wedding day?

"We planned our wedding for October knowing that it would be cold, but incorporating a short walk into the day meant we needed to be prepared for the elements! With it being such a special day, we wanted to dress to impress - and if we could support a woman-owned business based in Stockton, even better."

What elements or details did you want to incorporate into your jacket design and why were they meaningful to you?

"Phoebe loved one of Beth’s designs from the first look, and so we incorporated those colours and elements into Sophie’s original design that used the name of the song that we walked down the aisle to."

How did you find the process of designing and creating your personalised jacket?

"So easy and fun! Sophie got the ball rolling by sending a fairly drunken email while we were chatting about it on holiday, and Beth replied really quickly. We then called into the office to discuss what we wanted, where Beth outlined the process and what we should expect from her and Ellie (we also got to meet the iconic Helga). What only felt like a couple of weeks later, we received the designs over email and, once approved, it only felt like a couple of weeks again until we had the jackets in our hands - both in tote bags with our wedding date embroidered on, which made us both cry!"
